Excel:unpivot by pivot table for excel old-versions

You have a matrix table (e.g., Rows represent Item Names and Columns represent Dates). You need to transform this into a flat list consisting of three columns: Value, Date, and Item Name for easier Pivot Table creation or data filtering.

 

1.Alt + D +P

2. Select Multiple consolidation ranges -> Next.

 

 

3. Select:I will create the page fields -> Next.

 

4. Select data range, click “Add”

 

 

5. Click Finish. If several pop-ups appear, just click 'Yes' or 'Finish'."

 

6. When a new sheet appears, drag row and column fields to “Rows” section, value field to “Values” section, the value can be sum, avg or min/max, no affeacted. Then, at the end of pivot table, double click to the grand total
